Did you know your social media presence has the potential to make or break your chance of finding “the one?” No, not your soulmate—the right employee. And what you’re posting on social media might turn them away before they even hit “apply.”

The right candidates are doing top-to-bottom research by scoping out your social media pages and website to get a feel for your company, and if they don’t like what they see, they’ll move right along. So, how do you make sure you’re sending the right message? Here’s some strategies we recommend:

Showcase your company culture

One of the biggest what-ifs job seekers wonder is, “Will I fit in?” By providing a behind-the-scenes look into what company culture is like on your social media pages, you’ll help candidates visualize themselves as part of your team. This can take the form of employee testimonials, team outings, community engagement activities and even office tours that highlight the perks of your workplace.

Make your posts pop

Your social media should be visually engaging, with a mix of attention-grabbing images, animated graphics and real-life photos and videos. Your posts should look compelling and cohesive when viewed together on a grid, which means sticking to a specific brand color palette and fonts. Stay-up-to-date with platform size guidelines and be sure you’re uploading high-quality images rather than grainy thumbnails.

Speak the right language

It’s critical to nail down a distinct brand voice that reflects your company ethos. Masquerading as something you’re not or trying to appeal to everyone won’t get you very far. Instead, focus on accurately depicting your company’s personality in your posts to help zero in on the type of employees you’re looking for.

Attracting top talent can feel like a full time job. That’s where we come in. Our team is well-versed in the art of curating a social media feed to strike exactly the right chord. Let’s make it happen together.
